Posting Extra Payments

We have been a WebPT customer since the beginning and have submitted several ideas of the years, non of which have been implemented. Hopefully this time it will be. Currently when a patient pays extra on their account there is no way to indicate the overage. We would like to have the option to select amount due, then amount paid- this way the credit will show up on their account. Some patients like to pay ahead and it is very time consuming to go back and forth reading through all the notes to know if they still have a credit or not. For example: patient has a $20 copay, and they pay $100. We would mark amount due $20, amount paid, $100, then there would be a credit of $80 on their account to use for the upcoming visits. Not all patients schedule ahead of time and sometimes they cancel the upcoming visit. So it is not feasible to add the upcoming visits when taking the initial payment and making them paid. It only confuses things more. Please enhance this system to better track payments. It's an essential part of the clinic. Thank you
