Flowsheet view is not user-friendly or easy to follow

The flowsheet feature is very clunky and difficult to follow. For one, the view requires excessive scrolling to see all exercises. A simpler and cleaner view would be a chart format, similar to paper flowsheets previously used in the clinic. Have a chart with exercises listed on the left in rows, and columns for associated dates. Then the boxes can be selected and popped out to include sets/reps/weight/resistance as well as comments. This would allow aides to quickly and easily follow a flowsheet. New exercises are added to the bottom, so a patient would flow through from top to bottom through the routine. It would also be visually helpful to color code exercises based on code (ther ex, neuro re-ed, ther act, etc). Then to calculate billing you would just skim the flowsheet and estimate minutes and calculate units. The bulk of orthopedic PT is following flowsheets so this feature is crucial.

    Admin response

Hello, and thanks for your feedback! We have a feature that should be a solution for this idea that we are planning to work on soon. We are building this specifically in SOAP 2.0, so you will need to upgrade to SOAP 2.0 to have this enhancement available. We’ll associate this idea to the feature to make sure you know when it is delivered. In the meantime if you have any further questions feel free to leave a comment or contact support.

the 1.0 versions works great for our clinic. what I have heard about the 2.0 version would not work for our clinic like the 1.0 version does.

I agree that there is no "flow" to the current flowsheet. It severely lacks in efficiency for the clinician. Lots of time is spent scrolling and looking for or putting in exercises again b/c they don't save to a user's list. Suggest a box to check that can be marked on the note that says "Attach flowsheet" or "Integrate flowsheet in note" that will stay checked once checked and have a similar set up as in 1.0 so that techs can easily access the flowsheet and more than one person can be in the flowsheet at a time. It is a huge obstacle that multiple people can't be in the 2.0 flowsheet at once. Also a "carry forward all" button would be great to bring back. The flowsheet in 1.0 was a winner so anything that can come close would be a win. I'm not sure if the goal is to ultimately integrate an "all in one note" but for ease of use, flow and efficiency it may just be a better choice to keep it as 2 documents. I've been a HUGE advocate for digital flowsheets since beginning use in 1.0 but the new flowsheet in 2.0 is making me want to go back to paper. In a busy clinic it is a must to have provider friendly and efficiency in the flowsheet since as another person stated--it's the hub of what we do. Thanks

I agree with the commentor below that the current “flow sheet” lacks actual ”flow”. It is exceedingly difficult and time-consuming for clinicians and aides to follow. I looked at the “enhancement” to come in SOAP 2.0, and it’s hard to see (from the images and examples given) that the embedded flowsheet will flow any better. Please do give more consideration to a chart-like flowsheet that shows exercises along the left, dates across the top, and sets/reps/holds/resistance as pop-outs for each day, as the OP suggested.

Has this feature been implemented yet? I agree that the current flowsheet (which I believe my clinic is using SOAP 2.0) is very clunky and cumbersome to use. A lot of scrolling, difficult to differentiate between tasks of different codes, what has bene performed or not, etc.

It would be much easier (and seems like it would be much easier) to arrange the layout/interface in a chart with rows and columns like most paper flowsheets are arranged, so that the therapist can see the exercise plan as a whole. The current "flowsheet" lacks a lot of actual flow.
