Update Medicare progress note requirements

WebPT automatically places an alert for Medicare progress notes every 30 days as well as for every 10 visits. Therefore the company I work for requires that PTs write PN both at the 30-day and the 10-visit notifications. This practice interferes with the flow of patient care, particularly for those patients who are seen less frequently than 10 visits per month, and so must have time taken away from their treatments for extra progress note documentation by their therapist, sometimes during every other treatment for those long-term patients for whom 2x/month is an appropriate intervention period.

The 2022 CMS wording states that:

"Progress Reports provide justification for the medical necessity of treatment. Progress reports shall be written by a clinician at least once every 10 treatment days".

I can find no wording justifying forced reports every 30 days.

My patients and I would very much appreciate if WebPT adjusted notifications to eliminate the 30-day notice that is no longer current, and to use exclusively the 10-treatment day 2022 progress note requirement notification instead.

Thank you
