When patients have met their deductible, we check the "Deductible Met" box on the insurance record in the chart, and enter a Copay or Coinsurance amount, if applicable. However, when checking in a patient whose deductible has been met, in addition to a Copay or Coinsurance payment line, a payment line for the deductible continues to be created after the deductible no longer applies. We are manually deleting these unneeded payment lines.
In the case of a patient who has satisfied their deductible AND out-of-pocket maximums, there will not be a copay or coinsurance line to alert you that the deductible has probably been met. In that case, you only have the Deductible payment line, and need to check the patient's chart to verify that the deductible has been met.
I'm requesting that the Deductible payment line no longer be created if the "Deductible Met" box is checked.
Hello, and thanks for your feedback! Removing the Deductible Payment line is not a feature we have planned, but we may consider it as we enhance our payments offering. We'll make sure to let you know if this feature is delivered.
