Having medical diagnosis box and treatment diagnosis box option when adding a new case, not just in a daily note
Hello, and thanks for your feedback! Adding medical/treatment diagnoses codes to a case is a feature that we don’t currently have planned, but may consider in the future. We’ll make sure to let you know if this feature is delivered.
In the meantime if you have any further questions feel free to leave a comment or contact WebPT Support using support@webpt.com.

Keith - the article you referred to is not relevant here. WebPT requires and ICD-10 in the Treatment Diagnosis, those are all medical. That article describes ICF and there is no place for that on billing forms. The "diagnosis" and "treatment diagnosis" boxes are repetitive and for billing purposes. They cause more issues with addendums serve no clinical or billing purpose. We can write our treatment diagnosis in words in the assessment until there are actual billable codes for a physical therapy diagnosis. WebPT is just making us waste time entering ICD-10's twice.
Side Note - if there is a problem with your coding then you have to manually change the Treatment Diagnosis in each note, a time consuming process, where as you can change the medical Diagnosis once and then just addend and rebill all the other notes and it will carry forward but the "treatment diagnosis" will still be wrong.
The Case contains a field for the Medical Diagnosis, as given by the referring physician (if referred). Unfortunately, this field is called "ICD Library" rather than Medical Diagnosis.
We have Treating Diagnosis (a.k.a. Functional Diagnosis) for the diagnosis rendered by the therapist. While it is technically not a "diagnosis from a doctor", it is important to capture and is used for billing. This article from NIH explains it well.
That said, not all disciplines document a Treating Diagnosis, so in the future we will be making Diagnosis optional. Side note: When the Medical Dx is documented in the SOAP note, it does update the Case. When it is changed in the Case, it is updated in the next SOAP note.
