In insurance set-up, there is still an option for ICD-9 and ICD-10. Since it is 2022 and ICD-10 became effective 10/01/15, can it be a permanent option for any new insurance, that it is always set-up as ICD-10? Recently, I had that was listed as ICD-9 (I did not change) and a co-worker had the same issue.
When creating new insurances the default is to enable ICD-10. It needs to be manually removed if you wish to use ICD-9 codes. We will evaluate if there are any payers that still are requiring ICD-9 and potentially remove the option in the future.
